Clinical/Research Interests: An expert in bone marrow pathology, Edward C. Larkin specializes in diagnosing hematologic disorders and disease using aspiration biopsies, flow cytology and specimen analysis. He consults for the National Institutes of Health and reviews for the American Council on Science and Health and Annals of Internal Medicine. With an emphasis on liver tissue pathophysiology, he studies the effects of alcohol and nutrition on liver function, lipid metabolism and blood production. His research also includes the effects of iron deficiency as well as platelet function, microcirculation, and oxidation effects on hematopoietic tissue.
